Heritage Studies by coursework

This programme explores the role of heritage in contemporary societies.

Overview


A Masters Degree can be undertaken in three different ways: by dissertation, by dissertation and practical project, or by coursework and research report, or by dissertation only.

Coursework students are required to complete three coursework units, and write a research report of 20,000 words.

 

Curriculum


Master of Arts in Heritage by course work and research report
Requirements: 3 courses and a research report
(i) Core course - Public Culture
(ii) 2 electives

 

Entry Requirements


Entry Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree with honours from Wits or another university with a 65% total mark aggregate.

University Application Process


  • Applications are handled centrally by the Student Enrolment Centre (SEnC). Once your application is complete in terms of requested documentation, your application will be referred to the relevant School for assessment. Click here to see an overview of the Wits applications process.   • Applicants can monitor the progress of their applications via the Self Service Portal.
  • Selections for programmes that have a limited intake but attract a large number of applications may only finalise the application at the end of the application cycle.
